Questions for Participatory Media

A set of questions to be framed for investigating online participatory media.

Identifying a media resource as a “magazine” or a “newspaper” or a “documentary” communicates an agreed-upon set of expectations. But identifying online resources as a “webzine” or a “blog” or a “civ” are even more problematic, as there are varying expectations.

The questions about Identity apply to anybody online; those for intent apply mostly to bloggers and self-publishers; those on architecture apply to anyone publishing online; those on legitimacy apply to anyone seeking to build a readership.
